Onigiri Recipe

Ingredients:
→ Short Grain Rice
→ Dried Seaweed (Nori)
→ Salt to Taste

Fillings:
→ Smoked Salmon, Pickled Plum, Tuna, Mayonnaise, Ginger Dressing, etc. The possibilities are limitless.

Steps:
→ 1. Cook Rice according to recipe as stated on the bag. We use a rice cooker, but some people may have to go with the stovetop method.
→ 2. Let rice cool to the point of being warm but cool enough to touch.
→ 3. Scoop rice into your palm (how much depends on how large or small you want your Onigiri to be) and form into a shape. Triangles or flattened spheres are common, but you can get creative and do as you please shape-wise. (Even make a cat shaped one if you so desire)
→ 4. Once shaped, make a hole in the center and fill with the fillings of your choice.
→ 5. Once filled, reshape your onigiri to contain the fillings.
→ 6. Wrap in Nori. (Used largely to keep it from falling apart)
→ 7. Enjoy!

(If it isn't salty enough, add salt!)

Helpful Tips:
→ 1. Use plastic wrap and spoon the rice on the wrap and shape it that way. The plastic wrap helps to keep it from sticking and makes for cleaner hands in the end.
